Great spot for the whole family. Fishing from the docks makes it easy for the young ones.
Great history
I grew up in the area but had no idea how well the fort was preserved. Definitely worth coming down to visit on a quiet day to enjoy the weather and learn a bit more of the history of the area.
Wonderful old fort, great for children if you watch out for safety.
Nice, small visitor center (the bright yellow building at the top of the hill!) for Fort Washington Park - National Park Service. Park rangers sell souvenirs here, but no food or drinks. There's some small exhibits detailing the history of the Fort Washington Park military ruins.
